The Bulgarian currency is the lev (leva in the plural). In ancient Bulgarian "lev"  meant "Lion"). 

 

The lev is subdivided to 100 stotinki (stotinka in singular).

 

The frequently used Banknotes are 2, 5, 10, 20, 50 and 100 leva.

The commonly used coins are 1, 2, 5, 10, 20 and 50 stotinki; 1, 2 leva.
