About the blogger

Hi and welcome to City Travel Journal, my new travel blog. My name is Boaz Albert. I work as Director of the Education Department of two museums in Tel Aviv: Bialik's House Museum (the home of our national poet) and Beit Hai'r (The City House). Beit Hai'r used to be the first City Hall of Tel-Aviv and nowadays serves as a museum of the history of the city, alongside temporary exhibitions of urban arts.

I am also a singer-songwriter. Together with three friends, I founded a rock band called "El Hameshorer" ("To the Poet" in Hebrew") - We recorded two albums: (1) the poems of the Jewish national poet Hayim Nachman Bialik, and  (2) The poems of Wladyslaw Szlengel from Warsaw Ghetto.

I live in Israel, in a town called Shoham, 10 Min. drive from the main international airport. My wife and I are both divorced - she has two girls, and I have one. My wife, Liat Steir-Livny, is a researcher and lecturer of Holocaust Studies, Cultural Studies & Cinema Studies. She is getting lots of invitations to academic international conferences all around the world and usually asks me to join her. So we travel a lot. However, because we have three adorable girls back home, our trips are very short: 3-4 days top. Moreover, while my wife spends her time abroad mostly in conferences venues, I got plenty of time learn and explore the city.

For some time now I feel that I can share my knowledge and experiences to others, so I decided to write this blog. If you plan to visit the same destination, you will have a better experience using my advice and tips.
